Matt Etch Varnish

Printed over gloss film is a litho alternative to spot UV screen printed over matt film. Using a normal litho plate on a litho press, the etch varnish is printed onto the plastic surface of the gloss laminated sheet. When dry, the gloss film shines through producing a contrast with the matt. The process is extremely cost effective (gloss film is much less expensive than matt) and much faster since you print at litho speed. Also, litho registration is more accurate than screen registration, the scuff resistance of the etch varnish is about 4 times better than that of matt film, and there is no capital investment required.
