Australian printing equipment distributor Graph-Pak believes that the
phenomenal capacity of the new Autobond MINI 105 x 140 TPH laminator
will be one of the main talking points at the forthcoming PrintEx07
exhibition, 24th - 26th May, Sydney. UK manufacturer Autobond is
launching the new model this month, and PrintEx07 will be the
introduction of the laminator to the Asian-Pacific market.
The MINI 105 x 140 TPH (Thermal, Perfector, Heidelberg) laminator can
laminate stock from A4 to 105 x 140 cm, both sides in one pass, at
speeds of 60 metres per minute. This equates to 5,000 sph of B1 or
7,300 sph of B2, while the landscape design gives it a footprint of
only 2.8 x 2.0 metres.
The new MINI 105 x 140 TPH has a Heidelberg Speedmaster rising pile
back separation stream feed head with a vacuum feed table, allowing
continuous and accurate feeding of a wide range of types of
stock. The feed head is processor controlled and receives
continuous job data from a sophisticated encoder on the laminating
roller. Reliability is further aided by the extremely robust
construction, which incorporates 30 mm thick steel side plates.
“This is a tremendously exciting development in laminator
technology,” says Tom Ralph, managing director of
Graph-Pak. “Since Graph-Pak took over the Autobond agency
in Australia last year we’ve sold eight laminators, the latest
one due to be installed at the end of April. There is a great
deal of interest in Autobond equipment in Australia and the new MINI
105 x 140 TPH will offer the highest standards of productivity and
quality on the market today.”
The laminator can apply matt or gloss OPP and acetate film on to stock
ranging from 90 to 650 gsm. Features include Siemens electronics
and a touch screen control panel, PLC and inverter drives, a digital
sheet counter, adjustable anti-curl bar, pneumatically adjustable
in-feed nip rollers and a pneumatic air clutch to provide a constant
tension between the laminator and the sheeter. The Siemens
electronics has allowed Autobond to include remote diagnostics
facilities, so that customers anywhere in the world can have immediate
help if they have a problem.
Features such as the quick release airshaft for fast changing of film
rolls means that make-ready is less than five minutes and requires only
two sheets. This makes Autobond laminators cost effective at
short runs, while the high throughput also means that long runs can be
handled efficiently. The high degree of automation makes the
laminator straightforward to operate, and Graph-Pak says it can
normally train someone within a day to use an Autobond machine.
