The
overlapped sheet streams from the low speed tape section and enters
into the collating boxes, which begin to collect into reams. At the
appropriate sheet count, the interrupter finger lowers into the sheet
stream to create a separation point between the completed ream and the
incoming sheets. Once the interrupter fingers are inserted into this
gap and below the bottom sheets of the ream. The ream is then clamped
together by the upper and lower gripper fingers and pulled downstream
out of the collating boxes and onto the ream discharge conveyor.
