Hamburg
/ Oulu, Finland, March 28, 2007 – Stora Enso, global market
leader for paper, packaging and forest products, has extended their
folio-size production capacity by purchasing a GFS PRO folio-size
sheeter of E.C.H. Will, a company of the Körber PaperLink Group.
The new converting line will be installed at the Stora Enso site in
Oulu, Finland, one of the largest state-of the-art paper mills for
coated wood-free fine papers.
The integrated mark-free sheeting technology from E.C.H. Will was
crucial for this investment in high-performance sheeting. The new sheet
transport and overlapping system guarantees mark free converting of
sensitive paper and board grades. Stora Enso will almost exclusively
convert high-quality coated paper on the new line and this consequently
will make high demands on product quality.
The GFS PRO will be delivered with a working width of 2820 mm and an
unwind concept for an eight-web production process. The cross cutter
has a knife load of > 1000 g/m2.
“The low noise level with a maximum of 82 dB (A) is very
operator-friendly and due to its operating and design concept, the GFS
PRO offers easy maintenance and fast changeover times. The high level
of automation guarantees an efficient production process. Our decision
to acquire the new sheeter is an investment in the future”,
explains Jaakko Hettula, Production Manager, Stora Enso Oulu.
Klaus Aarestrup, Managing Director of E.C.H. Will notes that
“Stora Enso is the third global paper producer opting for our new
GFS PRO high-performance sheeter. This shows that this machine concept
fulfills the needs of large paper mills and their demands for high
efficiency and product quality, especially when it comes to coated
paper grades.”
