The Oceania launch of the
Autobond MINI 105 proved the popularity of this model which was
released in the UK just a month earlier. The machine on the Graph-Pak
stand was sold within the first hour. Managing director Tom Ralph said
he had been inundated with enquiries for laminating machines with
around 250 quote requests. “We were amazed at the level of
interest in Autobond machinery from new and old users from Australia,
New Zealand, Singapore, Fiji and New Caledonia. The most consistent
compliments from visitors focused on the obvious level of quality
offered and the fact that the 105 x 1400 MINI can laminate both sides
in the one pass.”
The company already has a string of orders and installations of
Autobond laminators under its belt, the latest company to take delivery
of a MINI 52 TH being Perth trade house Print Finish Line. The
family-run business the largest trade finishing house in Perth, and
provides a wide range of services from saddle stitching and folding to
section sewing and perfect binding.
“We often need to laminate part of a job and were either handling
this in-house or sending it to a specialist trade laminator, when our
machine was not capable of meeting the demands,” said general
manager Chris Duncan. “It reached the point where it made sense
to install a top quality laminator that could provide us with the
quality and productivity required to keep everything under one roof.
“In addition, because we receive such a variety of short run work
we need to be able to change jobs often, so the ability to have a fast
makeready was a vital feature. We were extremely impressed by the
construction of the MINI 52 TH. Everything about it looked good. Since
its installation, the Autobond laminator has been fantastic, allowing
us to bring all our laminating in-house and dealing successfully with
everything we have thrown at it. The MINI 52 TH’s ease of use
means that we now have three trained operators and with the high level
of productivity achievable, we can turn work around much more
quickly.”
