The
new Compact 105 TPHS gives Avon Graphics even greater flexibility to
turn around quickly a wide variety of work.
Australian trade finisher, Avon Graphics, is offering customers a
greatly enhanced laminating service following the installation of a
Compact 105 TPHS from UK manufacturer Autobond. The new laminator joins
an Autobond water-based model at the company’s Melbourne
premises, which is one of three sites operated by Avon Graphics in
Australia.
“We specialise in embellishment services such as foil stamping,
embossing and die cutting, rather than straight binding,” says
managing director and owner Trevor Hone. “Laminating has always
been an important part of the business and the demands for this process
have gradually outstripped the capacity of our older Autobond machine.
“The new Compact 105 TPHS gives us even greater flexibility to
turn around quickly a wide variety of work. Although it was delivered
only a couple of months ago it has already been used on a huge
selection of stocks, sizes and run lengths. The Heidelberg feed head
has proved particularly effective at feeding different papers at high
speed. Since it was commissioned, the Compact 105 TPHS has performed
extremely well and we’ve had very good back up from Autobond and
the local dealer, Graph-Pak.”
Tom Ralph, managing director of Graph-Pak, which took on the Autobond
dealer-ship in Australia last year, says: “The Autobond
laminators have become one of Graph-Pak’s most successful
products. The robust construction, ease of use and high productivity of
Autobond laminators has put them in a class of their own. The fast
makeready means that they are suitable for short runs, while the
throughput on longer runs is phenomenal. In addition, the MINI series
offers an extremely small footprint and we are finding that many
printers are able to install a MINI laminator, where previously they
have not been able to fit a machine into the building.”
