The
MINI 76TPH with fast makeready times provides quality, cost-effective
laminating.
Since the installation of an Autobond MINI 76TPH in July, Bambra Press
is already noticing an improvement in efficiency at its Port Melbourne
plant. A fair percentage of work requires laminating both sides and the
perfecting feature achieves this in one pass. Coupled with a laminating
speed of 60 metres per minute, this makes the MINI 76 a productive
machine that allows Bambra Press, which specialises in high quality
short run offset and digital work, to offer its clients a quicker
turnaround.
Managing director John Wanless said that the firm chose the Autobond
MINI 76TPH as it suited their requirements for quality and fast
makeready times. In fact, makeready on the MINI 76 is less than ten
minutes, including changing the film roll, which makes short runs cost
effective. “We have noticed a clear improvement in the number
of sheets
we can laminate on any shift. In addition we can laminate a wider range
of stock weights, from 130gsm through to 420gsm board.”
The
thermal perfector is capable of handling matt or gloss polypropylene,
polyester, nylon and acetate thermal film from A4 to 76 x 102 cm.
“It
has a genuine Heidelberg 74 servo driven feeder with rising pile
delivery and uses a chill roller system to cool the laminated products
for immediate processing,” notes Tom Ralph, managing director
of
Graph-Pak, the Australian agent for Autobond. “It’s
also equipped with
a shingle stream delivery so basically as far as OHS goes this machine
really makes life easier for the end user.”
Other features
include Siemens electronics and a touch screen control panel, with
remote diagnostics facilities, PLC and inverter drives, a digital sheet
counter, adjustable anti curl bar, pneumatically adjustable in-feed nip
rollers and a pneumatic air clutch to provide a constant tension
between the laminator and the sheeter.
Since its launch at
Ipex 2006, the Autobond MINI 76 has become the company’s best
selling
laminator. The easy-to-use design means that an operator can usually be
trained within a day and this, combined with a relatively low purchase
price, has resulted in an increasing number of sheet-fed printers
installing Autobond machines.
