 A unique machine from Col-Tec offers potentially unlimited capacity by
doubling the number of feed stations or doubling the maximum sheet size
all within a few minutes. The Multiplex retains one of the most
important features of the standard Col-Tec collator, which is the flat
bed belt conveyor. Printers have, for many years, appreciated the
accuracy and reliability of Col-Tec’s belt conveyor with automatic
knock-up of all sheets on the conveyor every time a new sheet is added
to the set.
“Now all Col-Tec Multiplex collators can easily be changed to double
the number of available stations or double the maximum sheet size that
the collator will handle. Only Col-Tec equipment offers such
flexibility for little extra cost,” explained Tom Ralph, managing
director of Graph Pak, the Australian agent for the UK range of
collating equipment. ”For example, a 12 station B3 Multiplex collator
can quickly be changed to run 24 stations B4 or 6 stations A2, thus
giving the printer the most versatile collator in the world.”
A Col-Tec B4 Multiplex collator will give the user 10 B4 feeders or 20
B5 feeders or 5 A3 feeders and all from the same collating machine. For
large format work a Col-Tec Multiplex 10-station B2 collator can be
changed from the standard format to 5 A1 feeders. This configuration
would also allow 20 B3 feeders. The above examples are just a few of
the possible configurations.
Naturally Col-Tec collators can
come fully equipped with a range of finishing features including
bi-directional conveyor, multiple feeding (repeat feed)from all
stations, automatic miss sheet correction, deep pile feeders,double
detection on all stations, stitch/fold/trim (3 knife) and criss cross
jogging.
