Rima-Systems'
range of solutions can be used in newspaper and commercial production..
Efficient newspaper production starts at the press and ends with the
finishing and distribution equipment. To optimise competitiveness of
its customers Rima-System has developed several machines from
conveyors, trimmers, compensating stackers to automatic palletisers
which can be used in newspaper and commercial production.
For the precise trim of newspaper and semi-commercial productions
Rima-System offers a wide range of rotary trimmers including the highly
successful RS 830 ‘all-in-one’ trimming line which consists of two
trimming modules and one bump-turn on a movable frame.
All
trimmers feature shingled stream aligners, zero-backlash adjustment and
integrated knife cooling for a precise trim. Several knife options
guarantee great results with almost every kind of production. Besides
serrated carbide knives it is also possible to use segmented knives. A
trimming lower knife ensures a regular trim with very thick products
and newspapers.
Special non-marking belts and additional
guides for wide signatures further optimise the results in newspaper
applications. Whether manual or electric format adjustment, all
trimmers combine easy operation with great accessibility and
durability.
In a second step all trimmed and untrimmed
products can be processed by one of Rima-System’s compensating
stackers. They range from an RS 25 entry model to the fully equipped
high-end machines RS 32/RS 36. All stackers can be equipped for
newspaper production (e.g. non-marking belts and high upper bin) but
are equally suited for (semi-)commercial making them a perfect
‘allrounder’ in the plant.
The machines are equipped with a
multitude of helpful details like stream aligners, squeeze rollers and
a divert gate to ensure a high stream and stack quality. The high-speed
stacker RS 36 is the latest model and integrates an indexing set of
forks to transport the products to the servo-turntable.
An
intelligent servo-pusher in combination with a pivotable delivery belt
guarantees the smooth and controlled ejection of stacks at shortest
cycle times (at up to 100.000 cph). All Rima-System stackers are known
for their long lifetime and low operating costs.
For a fully
automated solution trimmers and stackers can be combined with an RS 400
high-speed palletiser. The four-axis robot can manage up to 1000
stacks/h and thus is the fastest robot for the printing industry. Its
main advantages are high durability and availability, long maintenance
cycles and an unbeaten lifetime. In addition the robot is a fully
flexible system, working with loose, strapped and wrapped stacks and
strapped logs. Palletising from one to four lines onto one or two
pallets is possible. The feeding of slip sheets as well as transport of
full and empty pallets is also completely automated.
The
graphical interface Paletti integrates all relevant operating functions
and enables operators to easily create, save and recall pallet layouts.
The control monitor gives full information about the palletising
process in real-time. Additional control and maintenance modules are
easily accessible via registers. Via the software the robot can be
integrated into a PPMS-System and into JDF.
“With more than
8500 installations, Rima-System can offer the customer a wide range of
machines for newspaper, commercial and hybrid printing and the
experience of one of the leading Post Press suppliers worldwide,” noted
Tom Ralph, managing director of Graph Pak, which distributes the range
in Australia and New Zealand.
